How We Got Started

Working as a professional custom woodworker in Charleston for twenty years, Bill Hussey knows how hard it is to find convenient, safe, supportive workspace with the right zoning, utilities, and budget.  Rather than just dreaming about the space he needed, he and his wife Julie decided to build it.

There are coffee shops, co-working spaces, and suites for workers who need space to charge their computers, access printers, or need some general office support.  There are even studio spaces and equipment sharing opportunities for fine artists and potters.

Workshops at Howard Heights fills the need for these gathering spaces, co-working options, and studios for craftspeople, tinkers, and messy artists.

We offer:

  • More than 6000 sq feet of shared work space

  • A supportive community

  • Concrete floors

  • Minimum 9 foot ceiling height

  • Access to 3 phase power

  • Sprinkler system

  • Onsite forklift

  • Light industrial zoning

  • WiFi
